Job Title: Product Sales Engineer

Location: Canton, OH
Department: Corporate Engineering

Summary:
The engineer’s primary challenge is to provide technical advice and sales support on the application of existing metal bar grating products for all OGI markets. The position will also help develop new products as needs are identified for improved quality and reduced cost. The position will serve as the key project leader for assigned major sales orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Consultant to customers, engineers, architects, and fellow employees of OGI to apply the most effective and efficient metal bar grating products for various projects.
Estimate costs and prepare quotations for special
Assist with development and promotion of new grating products.
Manage major sales order projects from quotation thru delivery.
Provides technical evaluation of new product concepts, identifies alternative solutions, and resolves product design and manufacturing problems.
Develops specifications and directs the completion of technical drawings and prototypes based on criteria provided.
Troubleshoot manufacturing problems and root cause analysis.

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma/GED is required.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required and 3-5 years of demonstrated experience or 10 years of demonstrated experience.
Experience with products sold into the construction market.
1-3 years of sales experience.
Demonstrated strong communication skills, verbal and written.
Demonstrated strong problem solving and decision making skills are necessary..
Proficient computer skills in AutoCAD or similar application and Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
10-20% travel required.
Technical sales, product applications, stress analysis, and project management preferred.
