Riveted grating is the oldest style and still a popular choice for industrial
flooring areas. It is still the choice of many engineers
due to its reliability and durability along with its eye appeal. This
grating is composed of straight bearing bars, and bent connecting bars,
which are joined at their contact points by rivets. Since the connecting
bars extend continuously between bearing bars along the grating spans,
they not only serve to join the bearing bars together, but also contribute
to the load carrying capability and lateral stability of the grating
panels. This added dimension makes riveted grating an ideal choice where
high strength and stiffness are required, or light vehicular rolling
loads are encountered.
For areas requiring skid resistance due to the
presence of moisture or oily substances, steel riveted grating is available
with a serrated connecting
bar. This bar is raised 3/16” above the surface of the grating
and provides a grip fast surface for the soles of shoes. Riveted grating
is also available using stainless steel bar.
